Tasting- Codirosso Chianti

Name: Codirosso Chianti
Variety: Chianti
Region: Tuscany
Country: Italy
Year: 2014
Price: $13 Sale: $7.95
Expert Review: Ruby red color with purple reflections.  Intense vinous bouquet with hints of violets and dark cherry fruit. The flavor is full of ripe fruit and a hint of spice. It is well balanced and dry. The finish is persistent and satisfying.

My Review: The Chianti was a deep red, almost purple color. The aroma carried raspberry and black currant with hints of spicy pepper. During the mid-palate this wine was more watery than expected due to the strong aroma. The raspberry dried the mouth out and lead to the peppery aftertaste which lingered for 30 seconds.

Food: This wine was tasted with no food due to tasting it at the Vintage Cellar.
