Tasting- Crane Lake Petite Syrah

Name: Crane Lake Petite Syrah
Variety: Petite Syrah
Region: Lodi
State: California
Year: 2013
Price: $5.95
Vintage Cellar Review:  This wine is ruby-purple colored; notes of blackberry, plums and spice predominate the nose and flavors. The tannins give a soft, full mouth feel.

My Review: This Petite Syrah wine was a beautiful deep red, almost purple in color. The aroma was fresh blueberry picked right from the vine. Cranberry burst through in the mid palate but the plush blueberry lingered. IN the mid palate and after taste, caffeine and a feeling of energy came through which was an interesting flavor. Complementing that, a taste of anise and cinnamon were felt.

Food: This wine was tasted with no food due to tasting it at the Vintage Cellar.
