Tasting- Riebeek Cellars Viognier

Name: Riebeek Cellars Viognier
Variety: Viogner
Region: Swartland
Country: South Africa
Year: 2015
Price: $12 Sale: $7.95
Expert Review: This is a luscious viognier, featuring a deep yellow color, that explodes with juicy peach and honeysuckle flavors. Viognier can easily become flabby, but this one manages to keep its figure within bounds. I recommend this for immediate, lip-smacking enjoyment.- Washington Post

My Review: This wine was a golden yellow in color. The aroma was intense pear with earthy mossy smells coming through. In the mid palate to the after taste, this wine was smooth and light bodied. The watery taste was more prevalent in the mid palate and after about 15 seconds of the aftertaste, the heat from the alcohol surfaced.

Food: This wine was tasted with no food due to tasting it at the Vintage Cellar.
