Tasting- Dona Sol Shiraz, Petite Syrah, and Symphony

Name: Dona Sol Shiraz, Petite Syrah, and Symphony
Variety: Shiraz, Petite Syrah, and Symphony
Region: California
Country: USA
Price: $6.95
Expert Review: Shiraz has a unique jammy fruit character that is well represented in the Sweet Red. Both on the nose and on the palate, jammy fruit, like strawberries, cherry pie and red licorice, entices the senses and pair well with cheeses and desserts.

My Review: This deep red wine has a unique nose. It smelled slightly moldy but it was very weak. The alcohol came through slightly too. In the flavor, it was an explosion of grape juice but it was very sweet. It tasted like residual sugar with some fruit punch flavoring as well. This wine was too sweet for my liking.

Food: This wine was tasted with no food due to tasting it at the Vintage Cellar.
