Tasting- Stylo Old Vine Grenache

Name: Stylo Old Vine Grenache

Variety: Grenache
Region: Calatayud
Country: Spain
Year: 2012
Price: $8
Wine Review: The 2013 Stylo Garnacha Vinas Viejas is 100% Garnacha sourced from 77 year old vines. Dark ruby-colored, it has a superb nose for a wine of this price. Aromas of cherry and spice box lead to a sweetly fruited, balanced wine with no hard edges. There is delicious vanilla oak evident in the full, rich mouthfeel and long finish. This is a spectacular value! - Schneider's of Capitol Hill

My Review: This was a nice wine with a musty aroma. The complex wine had a distinct mouthfeel between the mid-palate and the after taste. The raspberry came through in the mid palate while in the after taste, dried cherry complimented with nutmeg was prominent. The tartness of the raspberry developed into the dryness for a nice lasting finish.

Food: This wine was tasted with no food.
